One-Act Schedule
Varsity Team: GTC Information
Itinerary*:
Wednesday 10/12 : Meet at BHS by the Loading Dock at 4:00pm. We will be picked up by the bus at 4:45, but need to be ready to load our set, props, and costumes as soon as our transportation arrives. We will rehearse at the hotel after dinner.
Thursday - Saturday: See the posted schedule at https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B9ECE-_zyMRkMWhDQktZSEo0VHc/view - please take time to read through this so we can talk about your game plan on Wednesday.
Sunday: We will load the bus early in the morning.
*I am working on finding out if we're allowed in the building for a rehearsal, as soon as I have that information I will let everyone know.
Packing List:
• Outfits for Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday - we will be walking, sitting to watch shows, and taking workshops. Think about what you need - if you want to take a dance class please make sure you bring appropriate clothing. (I will probably wear jeans, t-shirts, and have a sweater because I know I get cold.) The weather should be nice - highs in the upper 70s and lows in the 50s.
• Something nice (think Sunday best) for the Morrison Concert for Thursday night.
• Award Ceremony/Dance Attire: Homecoming-like dress or in theme (Diva or Favorite Character from a Show). Please remember that the dance will be outside in a courtyard so I wouldn't recommend heels.
• PERMISSION SLIP SIGNED (You don't need your teachers to sign it, but I still need it for records.)
• Phone Charger
• Money for food - we will be eating out lunch and dinner each day. There are a variety of places to choose from and many restaurants will be offering discounts.
• Tech crew must bring their blacks (all black outfits). Cast will need to get their costumes Wednesday or bring them. Cast should bring basic makeup.
• Scripts (we will be working while gone)
• Any sort of medications you take - like inhalers.
Please don't forget that there are other people on the bus - think about only one person per room bringing a curling iron. Get together and plan.
Trip Expectations:
While on this trip I expect every student to represent BHS and Glynn County well. Students must abide by school rules while traveling - except that they will have their phones on them. Please be responsible for your phone by turning it on silent at the beginning of every performance or workshop. There will be plenty of time for texts, phone calls, and picture taking. Also, I will get everyone's schedule/plan each morning. You must abide by that schedule. You must travel in pairs, or groups. I don't expect any issues, but will hold everyone to this. Students - if you have my cell, please give it to your parents. I will ask you to program their number into my phone before we leave.
If you have questions, please let me know. I planned on having one more parent/trip meeting, but Hurricane Matthew had other plans. As I receive information, I will relay as quickly as I can.
